but first some bad. A couple of Tuesdays back, a BSU guy from Chickasha, Oklahoma, bumped into the back of my 4Runner. They were here on campus for MissionLab. They hit the rear driver-side panel and bumper, leaving it dented and scratched. My heart broke. I’ve decided not to pursue the calling of insurance. But those guys need to stop driving so fast on campus here at NOBTS. The speed limit is 25, and it drops to 20 around the pre-school. I might sound like an old fogie, but 40 just won’t cut it. Do that off campus. That’s my scolding. On to the good news.
This week, though, good things have happened. I have been praying for three things this semester- 1. someone to disciple me, 2. a rug (for my floor), and 3. a place to live for the summer, in which I might put the aforementioned rug.
Monday, I basically asked Byron Townsend if he would pray for me to find a discipler, and he offered. I accepted. I’m stoked.
Wednesday night, after church, I bought a rug from Brian and Sara Beth, since they are selling a bunch of their stuff before they leave the city and move away forever. I like it.
Friday, I had an informal interview with Lifeway, so it looks like I might get a job for the summer, and perhaps beyond. At least until we can get the college ministry/church plant off the ground. And my guess is that may take a long, long time.
Also Friday, I had the wonderific opportunity to find that place to live. So my friend Matt caught me after that informal interview and we were talking in the student center when I mentioned that I was about to go to housing for a place to stay. Looks like I’ll be house-sitting for $250 + utilities (for the entire summer). Woohoo! I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it…. Yeah. So that’s perfect.
And all the Baptists can say, “God is good, all the time,” but I’m prone to proclaim, “Allahu Akbar!” God is the Greatest!
