Hurricane Katrina is coming to New Orleans, according to the National Weather Service. The two Clints (Crawford and the other one), Amy, and Tiffany went to Houston. Blaize is in Lake Charles and Jeff is in Dothan. Liz went to Georgia, Justin and Kirbey went to Anniston, Alabama, and Britt is still in Escatawpa, but expects to either stay here at my house in Mobile or go to Batesville early Monday morning. Here’s hoping he stays here. I think Jill and Darla went back to Brookhaven. I talked to Byron this morning sorta and Cindy had baby Ethan this morning at 7:20 AM, and they’re staying in the hospital through the whole thing. NOBTS campus is under a mandatory evacuation, so we’re all gone now. And that’s about the group, as far as I know. If anybody knows where Kyle and Roni Beth went, or Brent and Laura… let me know. The house is open for anybody from NOBTS. Ya’ll know how to get me. Pray for the city. It’s grown on me, I’d like it to still be there when I go back. Peace.
[Just Call Me Joe]
I'm a graduate of the University of Mobile and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I left New Orleans in 2008, spent a year in Fort Worth, Texas, then moved back to Mobile.
I like people, but bad things happen all the time. I want to help people in the world's poorest and hungriest countries learn ways to become more sustainable. Agricultural, architectural, and environmental education and higher standards reduce the effects of inevitable disasters. If we really love people, this is something that needs to happen to save lives.
I currently serve the Mobile area as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross. As always, the opinions I state on my blog are personal and do not represent the American Red Cross or any organization with which I am affiliated.
