Great post!

I agree with you, but I don't feel qualified to give advice!

I also have the same problem with those who make Jesus into a Republican. I don't think Jesus would watch FOX News. Bill O is a jerk ( I hate it when he tries to defend Christmas every year!), and any non-white person is seen as a threat.

This post, these experiences of "normal" christianity are so outside the realm of my experience as to not even find a home there, Joe.

Want to know how to keep your heart loving? Stay the hell away from the very people you mentioned and don't even try to share your ideas for outreach or the results when you do love on someone with them.

Just do your own thing, Joe, and forget the yahoos who don't get it. What will happen is that God will bring like hearted people into your life and it will restore your soul enough to see all those christians the same way you see the lost.

Then He can take away the bitterness, the frustration, the helplessness and the anger you may feel and fill you to overflowing in such a way as to attract both saved and unsaved.

If that doesn't resonate with you and you feel led to intervene among christians, then I would suggest you try dividing and conquering. Break up the "herd", Joe. Get them one on one with you and drag them to the very places you photograph and share your soul with them.

Go counter culter-quietly. Treat them the same way you'd treat the lost. Drip TRUTH on them by letting them see you not only LIVE it but SAY it. Kinda like self reflection/confession in front of another. You know, the stuff that may seem way too personal for your tastes. Sometimes its the confession from our own mouths that can open up the ears of another to receive God's truths.

Just my two cents.
