You know I so get this. I DO love the sun and blue skies. Love, love, LOVE them but with the new, arid climate I live in, comparable to your new home town, comes a dryness I wasn't prepared for.

Don't get me wrong, I'm about as much of a "lizard on a rock" gal as is out there but no longer having the rain as a part of my life has been tough. It NEVER rains here. In the two months I've been here it has rained twice and once was during the night so I missed it. The next morning I went out and sat on my wet lawn chairs w/ cup of coffee in hand just soaking up the smell!

I couldn't take it any longer and finally just walked all over the grass in my bare feet and then got on my hands and knees to pull weeds from my flower beds. The whole time I was just inhaling the sweetness of the wet earth.

I never knew I knew that smell until I lost it..........................and briefly found it again.

We have had a pretty great summer here. You need to move soon. I'll grill on the deck when you get here.
