[Kananaskis Country]

I took the mother of all road trips to Canada in the summer of 2007, driving from New Orleans to Calgary and back over about 17 days. I blogged the whole thing, and you can read all about it here.

Kananaskis Country

One of the ladies who told me about the park said that one of the X-Men movies was filmed at the lakes. The area has twin lakes: one upper lake and one lower lake. A levee is pretty much all that separates them at one spot. That’s where I was when I took this photo. I’m not sure if it was the upper or lower lake, though.

Kananaskis Country

In addition to Kananaskis Country in Canada, on the way home I visited Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Bighorn National Forest, Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills, and the Badlands. Honestly, Peter Lougheed Provincial Park (which is part of Kananaskis) was the most spectacular. I wish I’d known how to use my camera better, because these photos don’t do it justice.
