I went downtown to LoDa one night a couple weeks ago to take pictures of Mobile’s Christmas decorations. It wasn’t really that spectacular- actually it was all very underwhelming. Above left: Looking Down Royal Street toward Government Boulevard. Above right: Cathedral Square Facing the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.
As I strolled to the corner of Royal and Dauphin, I saw a photographer posing a police officer in front of the Van Antwerp Building. Victor Calhoun, a Press-Register photographer, was taking shots of the crumbling facade of one of Mobile’s oldest buildings. He filled me in on the story, so I decided to take some photos too.
